PBS Program, God in America

I watched the first two episodes last night. The other episodes will air tonight and tomorrow. Watch them if you have the time. This program is excellent. I highly recommend it. What aired last night is now online. Don't miss this. There's a lot it doesn't deal with of course, but it's really good. If this program is correct then I now understand perfectly why a deist/skeptic like Thomas Jefferson was elected President!

Thanks for the review. I considered watching it but decided I was afraid there would be pandering. My PBS station shows country music, so I don't trust them! Sheesh it's not like it's hard to find country music around here!

I watched it, and it was excellent. I am looking forward to tonight's episodes. The idea of Jefferson defending the Baptists to give them their own "freedom of expression" was worth the entire two hours. EFH

I watched it. It was good for me as I am a bit shaky on American history. It seems quite fair and impartial so far.

Our local PBS station in Portland aired a show with an invited audience as a prelude to this God in America series, and the subject was about faith and doubt.

I was interviewed, or asked to tell my story, at the 31:44 mark of the broadcast:

Maybe I was the token de-converted christian, but at least we got our non-theist view represented!

As I watched the beginning of episode 1 of "God in America," a quote came to me. "To the victor goes the spoils."
