She put the Fossils and the Bible out there to test our faith in Her.

But we have no excuse for being mislead. Obviously, we need a combination of empiricism and faith to perceive Truth. Empiricism shows us that God is Invisible- we must have Faith that She's Pink.zilchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01695741977946935771noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21219785.post-69016135533134941872007-06-20T00:47:00.000-04:002007-06-20T00:47:00.000-04:00adrian miu,I strongly agree with your idea about a...adrian miu,

I strongly agree with your idea about a hateful deity actually making everything fall into place. The earth appears to be billions of years old, but it's really not. Just a test of faith to make it that much harder to get to eternal paradise (and that much easier to make it to eternal suffering). There appear to be biblical contradictions with reality and there appear to be internal contradictions, but it's really God's Word. It was just another test of faith. God's silence would also make much more sense that way. Those devout Muslims think they are worshipping the real and true God of the universe, but they are wrong. Their lives were a test, and since they failed to find and worship the right God, the real God gets to make them suffer. They actually had faith, just not the right one, and God didn't let them know how catastrophically wrong they were. That just doesn't make sense with a loving deity, but it would with a hateful one.JumpingFromConclusionshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15776801983276051980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21219785.post-11344835399449831022007-06-19T10:35:00.000-04:002007-06-19T10:35:00.000-04:00anonymous: "You guys are in for a big surprise."Li...anonymous: "You guys are in for a big surprise."

Like the ending of The Sopranos? :-)

Peace.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01566038229462791286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21219785.post-8476358749146823252007-06-19T08:07:00.000-04:002007-06-19T08:07:00.000-04:00Well, adrian, that's alright with me, as long as I...Well, adrian, that's alright with me, as long as I get to spend my half-eternity in the same Hell as the bad atheists. :lol:zilchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01695741977946935771noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21219785.post-62282651654669077442007-06-18T15:48:00.000-04:002007-06-18T15:48:00.000-04:00Zilch, my guess is that if you are an atheist but ...Zilch, my guess is that if you are an atheist but you are nice the eternity you'll spend in hell will be half of the eternity of bad atheists. ;)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21219785.post-18444214317439022102007-06-18T14:35:00.000-04:002007-06-18T14:35:00.000-04:00What difference does it make if I have "more to an...What difference does it make if I have "more to answer for"? An angry, mean, lying deity would not make all christian claims so unbelievable. Just take evolution for example: God could have created the world in 3 days, told Moses he created it in 7 days and then he placed all the evidence that supports evolution. That would make sense, I would find it more plausible. If god is above morals what could it stop him from doing imoral acts? Who would judge and convict God?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21219785.post-87252397319508092082007-06-17T22:20:00.000-04:002007-06-17T22:20:00.000-04:00Very good article, Joe. I really enjoy your writing style.

**our atheist convictions are only strengthened by the Christian God’s decision to permit the death of a Christian man – of a soldier who was more noble and brave than I will ever be – and to allow a fat-ass, foul-mouthed blasphemer like myself to continue to breathe God’s air, to bask in his sunlight, to live another day to keep sharing wrist-slashing atheism with the world**

I think this really is significant. There appears to be no punishment for apostates. Not only does God not tell us anything about us writing ourselves a ticket to hell, he doesn't even stop us from trying to get some of his faithful believers to join us on the downward plunge. I really think a loving deity would interact in a more profound way to protect his children.JumpingFromConclusionshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15776801983276051980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21219785.post-15182846943401736982007-06-17T15:28:00.000-04:002007-06-17T15:28:00.000-04:00D said...
