The law has always had a moral basis, the only question is "whose morals?" You would like that to be _your_ morals. Well, every political debate is pretty much the same thing, and at least we know what you're about!

BTW, we "fundies" have long known that "liberal" Christianity is indeed the first step towards apostasy, so we oppose that too! :-) As I see it, if you can't believe every Word of God, how do you tell at what point He starts telling the truth? Nope, you have to take _every_ word. Sound like my Achilles heel? Then we should have fun in posts down the road.Rickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04707043244658054265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21219785.post-21172066204099849122008-05-23T20:50:00.000-04:002008-05-23T20:50:00.000-04:00So you're debunking evangelical christianity becau...So you're debunking evangelical christianity because it takes biblical studies at face value, polical reasons, the influence of christianity, stem cell research, fundamentalism, and because they're a threat to your personal liberties? That's rediculous. Christianity is about Jesus saving us from our sins and all that's being evaluated here is the effects that its had on politics.

First of all, Christians I know aren't blindly accepting what they read in the bible. If it's believing in what you can't see (faith) that's the issue, then you have no claim. I could say the same thing about a history text book at a high school. I'm blindly accepting it because I never saw history happen. Well just because the Bible is an older History book, doesn't mean it's less credible. And christians do think for themselves, they're not just blind bats. Don't you think it takes intelligence to give up your live for a cause? Or is selfishness the only motivation in America.
Secondly, you're saying that christianity is impacting the world in a way you don't like through the republican party. Well why don't you just debunk every group that has an "impact" on the world that you don't like. Why don't you debunk Communism in China? You want to attack Christianity because it presses it's views on you. So does every other group in the world, and so does the media, your peers, and everything else you come into contact with. Last time I checked Jesus didn't come to be a political leader. He came to save the world.
Thirdly, you're talking about christianity as the driving force behind anti-stem cell research, taht could save millions of lives. What about all the babies that are being aborted? That's millions of lives. And anyway stem cell research has gotten no where so far. But it might in the future. Regardless that is no reason to debunk christianity, just because one of your views is different from one that is from the "republicans" that are driven by "christians." And so christians must be at fault? You'll find atheists that are against embryonic research as well.
Your personal liberties? Is that your problem with christianity? You're such free thinkers yet you don't even understand paradigms outside your own.

I read in your FAQ's about how one of you was once a christian and then you deconverted. When talking about your christian walk though, i didn't see one thing about love or About understanding Jesus's gift of mercy to you and that you want to lose your life to take up your own cross. I'm sorry if any of the things I've written are offensive, but Christianity is so much more then reading your bible, going to church, and going through the motions. It's about a personal relationsip with Jesus where he is your king and you follow him with your life.Jacobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06865567755232332751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21219785.post-31281588655683476482007-11-13T21:54:00.000-05:002007-11-13T21:54:00.000-05:00"...and because they have a zeal for pressing thei..."...and because they have a zeal for pressing their views upon me through economic and political power."

So if you don't buy into the Trinity, you'll end up homeless and unemployed...?Jasonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13029527163229375153noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21219785.post-14923553643786564952007-11-13T21:51:00.000-05:002007-11-13T21:51:00.000-05:00Actually 2/3rds of American "adults" don't equal 2...Actually 2/3rds of American "adults" don't equal 200 million human beings, since children weren't surveyed, but since these adults bring their children up to believe these Bible stories, my estimate stands. 200 million people!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
