Another free read is RELIGIO-HISTORICAL APPROACHES: MONOTHEISM, METHOD, AND MORTALITY Which brings one up to date concerning what scholars are saying about the rise of monotheism in Israelite religion.
I found all I really needed to know about the rise of monotheism in Wright's "The Evolution of God," but this is a good link if the book is unavailable.
I've noticed that most of the really scholarly articles don't get many responses from Christians because there isn't a lot to argue about. This was a good link that provides a lot of the 'context' that Christians always say we are missing when we godless heathens try to interpret the Bible.
