Congrats John. I look forward to buying this book. Your work has helped me navigate a journey from fear-based Calvinism to joyful free-thinking atheism. I have benefitted from what you do.
Thanks. Yes, I'm pretty excited about it. It's been a long time coming. I have the colorized version and decided not to publish it for various reasons.
Does Winston know that his arrogant and defensive posture just reinforces the atheist position you've helped some of us achieve when your arguments "destroyed" our faith?
John, are you going to offer it on Amazon's Kindle... those of us that use it download it wirelessly and then we can easily carry it where we go, reading it when a few minutes opens up during the day
It seems to drive me insane when I ask fundamentalist Christians why there is such evil commanded by their God in the Bible and a blank stare comes over their face and the answer with, "I don't know but God is always Good" or "His ways are above ours and you must have faith." Can't they see the wickedness of such evil all commanded in the name of God?
Chuck O’Conner, Winston is correct about Long. He is not an in the field he is commenting on. His view is pretty meaningless. Now of course reading a book like “The Christian Delusion” one must watch out for biases of the authors. Even when reading a passage written by an expert one must be cautious about the author’s bias. As an old saying goes don’t believe everything you read.
"Winston is correct about Long. He is not an in the field he is commenting on. His view is pretty meaningless."
Perhaps a better approach would be to evaluate the strength of his arguments rather than dismissing them a priori based on an ad hominem. You said it yourself: one must watch out for biases.
Bud, Saying that one has biases is not an attack. When I said that his view was meaningless I was not talking about him. I was talking about reading why should I read someone’s opinion when that person really has no more knowledge about what he is talking about than I do. So I may be guilty of rushing to a wrong conclusion but I am not guilty of ad hominem. We all are bias and I have little time for books about Christian delusion when I do not believe that Christians are any more delusional than atheist.

Is that true color? I like the graphics, but it looks cold and clinical.

I like the gray cover. But then again, I like cold and cynical too.
John, WIBA an atheist did not "destroy Christianity", and this book won't either.
Especially since some of the contributors, such as Long, are not even experts in the field they are dommenting on.
Winston,
What does "dommenting" mean?
Good job again John.

"Forget Dawkins. If you are looking for a truly substantial, well-informed criticism of the Christian religion, this is your book."
High praise indeed from Dale C Allison, Jr. Certainly compels me to read it.
Well done!

George, yes, eventually.

Harold,
Are you a Christian? How do you explain the verses addressed in the section called the "Will of God."?

Dane Eidson,
Give me a link. Where do I find these verses on the will of God section that you are talking about?
