A Dog Risks His Life to Save Another Dog: Evidence of Altruism

Enough then of this talk that in order to care for one another we need God. We find evidence of this in other lower species of animals.

I remember seeing a story on animal planet where dolphin's were helping a sick one keep it's head above water to breathe. They would take turns propping it up. Went on for over an hour before nature took it's course.

While it is easy for humans to anthropomorphize animal emotion or intention, science too often sells them short. I think the only thing that distinguishes humans from animals is domestic fire.

I highly recommend any books by the primatologist Frans De Waal. He's done Our Inner Ape, Primates and Philosophers: How Morality Evolved, and most recently The Age of Empathy. He talks in great detail about the fact that empathy, sympathy and altruism are far from being unique to humans, and explains how they are evolutionarily selected traits.

That's right!

But there's still hope. He could become the next Dan Barker.

"in order to care for one another we need God."

Mammals showing emotion and caring is just more evidence of the soul of the animal (verses a fish or an insect). Also, we "need" God to create us and put these emotions into our consciousnesses. Both Homo sapiens and all other Mammalia.
God's Trademark in creation.

Feelings don't somehow "evolve" (if you say bare assertion - I would be happy to substantiate it)

Okay. Bare assertion.
