Debunking Christianity -- Atheism and More!
Here you go. Interestingly, it's hard to say what Steve's motive was in posting these quotes from Scripture. Is he saying that having "anger issues" is okay, since even Peter, Paul, Jesus and Yahweh have them? Your guess is as good as mine...
Seems like quite the unfair criticism. An expression of anger doesn't automatically mean the individual has anger 'issues'. We don't label parents who occasionally get angry with their child as having anger 'issues' nor do we do the same for someone that's just dropped a hammer on their toe. If the anger is justified, how is it an 'issue'?
guamy- but a parent who consigns his child to eternal torment for not believing, against common sense, that he rose from the dead would count, in my book, as having "anger issues".
zilch - the 'anger issue' references are taken from a number of verses, none of which have anything to do with eternal torment.
Thanks for the link and the perspective, but I don't really see these as implying "anger issues." Would you rather have God smile and wave at those who are exploiting others and oppressing one another?Obviously, each outburst of "Anger" needs to be viewed as an individual event, but to make a generalized argument, I would say that Paul, Jesus and God do a pretty good job of explaining their own actions in the quotes Steve lists. In other words, this isn't unsubstantiated anger that we are talking about.
