I think this is a powerful song below:

I'm not an atheist but that was a very good song. One that is worth listening to over and over.

Thanks John!

I'd always enjoyed Sarah McLachlan's cover of this song, but didn't realize it originated with XTC. Nice.

I think it would have been better if the kid sang the entire thing

your perception of things.... You have no idea... I really am concerned for you. I am praying for you.. really praying for you praying that God will be with you help you make better decisions and better thoughts on how you look on things cause end the end you'll be paying the price all for what YOU are doing. God bless you.

Well, now, there's a positive message if I've ever heard one: life sucks, then we die, and that's it ('cause if that weren't it, life wouldn't suck).

I think Benny Hinn might have you beat, as far as those donations go. You'll never pull off any tent meetings, talking like that. ;-)

Here's another link for the list. This guy (18 years old, at the time, I think) asks some very obvious, and annoying questions:

Here's the original video, with lyrics, where presumably you get to see the same little lout you hear in the beginning.

(The preview looks like the address is truncated - search for XTC and Dear God, if it is. The one posted by ANTM1977 has the lyrics added.)

If there actually were a Judeo/Christian/Islamic God, I think it would be good if there were a "panel" of gods above Him that would punish Him for all the atrocities that He has committed and allowed (but not for eternity because there is no justice in that).

anytime someone resorts to a fictional construct that is made up of matter to somehow compare to an actual Infinite Creator - you are no longer dealing with a person you can reason with.

Something made up of matter can not create all matter. An Uncaused Cause of all things, however, or an Infinite Creator CAN create matter.

I do not propose creation ex nihilo, but I do propose creation.

Question everything! Especially the comparison of pasta, tea pots, invisible dragons and pink unicorn to the Infinite Creator of all that we see in this universe.

You guys really need to check out Bertrand Russell's book "Why I am not a Christian". It can really follow up "Why I am not a Christian". Loftus, I am really glad that you wrote this book. I grew up in a Christian household but no other book I have ever read really tears apart the "Christian Bible". You, coming from the inside, stated the concepts quite clearly. Very good book.. I am proud to be an Atheist as I no longer harbor fear and doubt. I no longer have to feel guilt for every single thought that runs through my head. Not only your book, but also the many other books such as "Atheism the case against God" and many philosophers but my favorite "Bertrand Russell, as he is to philosophy what Einstein was to Physics"!!!
