I think I've been hanging around this website too much, because that was along the lines of my reaction.
1) If God was powerful enough to save her life, why didn't God stop the entire attack?
2) I have no idea what her religious affiliations are. But one thing that's confused me about evangelical Christians -- shouldn't death be the best thing ever, because it allows you to escape the fallen world and be in heaven? In which case, shouldn't you be disapointed that God saved your life?
Paraphrasing Jesus:
Mathew 10:16 - Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves.
But you are on your own if you
- do not humble yourselves and pray and seek My face, and turn from wicked ways,
- do not fear Him,
- do not believe that you will receive what you pray for.
- do not abide in god, and his words do not abide in you,
- are not righteous,
- are not doing something according to his will.
But maybe not because God did say that
- whatever you ask in My [Jesus] name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son,
so, I guess you never know.
This seems a lot like chance to me. And since that is the case, how do I know I am not just imagining that I am in a relationship with god?
Now, which, God exactly saved her when all the others were standing by idling?

On the other hand, I think it could be Eris punishing her for still believing in such silly superstitions after over 100 years.
